FreeRent 1000 Property Bet
So what’s this all about? I have a bet with the Sales & Marketing Director of FreeRent that I can easily get 1000 new properties registered on FreeRent.co.uk in less than 7 days. He thinks it is impossible so he said if it happens, he will give the first 1000 landlords the service for FREE – yes, that’s completely FREE. The free offer is the Tenant Find Service (worth over £200) and includes advertising on Rightmove (those in the industry know how much that alone is worth!).
Therefore go to www.freerent.co.uk and register your property NOW – it doesn’t have to be available for rent right now - you will be able to use the service for FREE in future if it’s in the first 1000. Sounds crazy but it’s absolutely true.
I’ve asked for one day to prepare so this bet starts on Wednesday 2nd of September from 07:00 GMT and ends exactly 7 days from then (ends Wednesday 9th of September at 06:59 GMT).
It takes less than 3 minutes to register & upload your property details.
So, if you are a landlord or know one – please forward on to them – you’ll be doing them a favour (as well as me)
Thanks to all that help! I’ll let you know how it goes!
“Can’t believe this bet is actually worth over £200,000 (doesn’t go to me of course – but for the UK properties registered)”

EDF ATTEMPTS TO EXTRACT MONEY OFF NON-CUSTOMERS
In summary EDF sent a large bill to cover a long period of time approximately two years of backdated bills. The customer assured them they did not switch & sent evidence of bills paid to a different energy provider. EDF ignored all their information this information, which included emails, written letters and telephone calls.
EDF sent a collector round to the house who also ignored all the obvious evidence placed before them and simply said the case will be referred to court. This obviously meant legal advice and lawyers. The case was listed in court to obtain a warrant – and subsequently thrown out of court as this was seen to be a big waste of time and it was obvious that EDF were attempting to obtain money from non customers by any means necessary.
The person involved has incurred court costs in defending this unnecessary action
EDF refuse to pay for their costs and claim the “acted in good faith throughout this matter” – makes you wonder how such a company defines “good faith”.
We wonder how many of these horror stories EDF are responsible for – if you have any, send it to us at freerentteam@freerent.co.uk.
We have contacted EDF to hear what they have to say and we will keep you updated... the saga continues.

FreeRent Twitter Board!
The idea came from using Twitter. Ideally all communications will be done electronically by twitter, e-conferencing, skype, gotomeeting and a host of other communication tools available today. This will demonstrate if it is truly practical and possible to break down traditional barriers.
The company is one of the first to explore this unique approach. People will have to apply for the positions when they are announced and would have an interview (over skype or Netmeeting). More information to follow.
